About Internet, Information & Inspiration

The Internet has revolutionized the world more than any other technology. If you are reading this on a mobile device, you might understand how important this piece of technology has become.

While we now have a ton of information accessible to us at the touch of a button, we also have a ton of confusion and misdirection coming along with that.

How many times have you opened YouTube at work, to listen to some videos to help your job, say sales videos, and clicked on things that are entertainment related instead? Many times, right? I have done that too. It is just a matter of how much dopamine you are producing when you see some content that takes you to an alternative reality that makes you click on a link.

I am a person who loves motivation. In fact, that is my addiction. You refresh my YouTube recommendations every couple of hours, and you will see that the recommendations are geared towards different kinds of motivational talks for various departments in my company. But, this has cost me a lot.

When I turned 30 in December, I wanted to utilize this special day to clean up my life and do what truly matters to me. I decided that every decision I make will make me get closer to my running vision to build a company that produces incredibly great products for our customers.

Implementing the decision took about a month for me. Along the way, I realized that the source of significant confusion for me in life, was not because I go through the incredible amount of pressure, but because I was listening to a lot of people at the same time.

For example, if I listen to a person like Grant Cardone and Gary Vaynerchuk at the same time, at the end of the day, I used to be confused about two things:

  1. Should I increase my actions and get results?
  2. Should I hustle harder and let the results come in?

Some days, I hustled. But the other days, especially when the payroll was closing in, I used to look into the actions that need to be done to make it for the next payroll.

Having done this for over three years, it really didn't make sense to me. I have started to consider my brain as my own organization, driven by heart and common sense; You need to decide what you are putting into your system;

So this January, I stopped listening to everyone. I stopped watching videos, and quit listening to Podcasts. I took a step back and looked at the people I heard. The only thing I realized was this:

You need to listen to people who are already somewhat what you want to be in the future.

This single 'if' loop in my decision to choose that one only person who I would follow, changed everything for me. I wanted someone who is:

  • Relentless
  • Driven and does not ever stop
  • Respects actions more than anything else
  • Makes sure their family is happy and spends time with them
  • Respects their other half
  • Respects other people around then
  • Helps as much as they can to make their team stay happy

The result was clear for me now, and I started following only Grant Cardone. The man who looks at the action for his goal, and the value he can add for his customers;

Grant. The man who is relentlessly working to make sure his family and his team are financially independent, and happy. If you start following him, start following his wife Elena Cardone. She is literally the pillar of their empire.

It cost me so many years to get to this clarity. Today, every time I watch some talk from Grant, I choose what I should listen to, what suits for my vision for the company and my life, rather than trying to follow something someone else has achieved in life.

It is a fact that everyone's life is different. If you want to be Steve Jobs, you should have been him and not you. Embrace yourself. Choose what you wish for you, and take action. The rest will follow.
